Security & Caretakers: If you’re trying to increase your profits, it’s worth setting both of these staff to patrol heavy-traffic areas.Remember, you’re managing a zoo, not just building it. I’ve collated some tips and tricks regarding how to maintain your zoo, and keep those profits rising. Upon full release, I feel like the game is even HARDER. ![]() Whilst there were many bugs and issues during the Planet Zoo Beta, you may find the game is slightly more intuitive than originally thought. ![]() Maintaining Your Zoo And Profits In Planet Zoo Set up a couple of exhibits and add a breeding pair in, once they start breeding the money you will make can help to keep you in the black and out of the red. Profit from exhibitsĮxhibits are quick and easy to set up and maintain, and the animals that go in them are cheap to buy too. Of course, this may change over time as vets aren’t having to battle with sickness in the Planet Zoo Beta. Generally speaking, you could get away with one keeper per 2-3 enclosures. If you want to keep saving money, I suggest NOT hiring any more keepers or vets until your existing staff are finding it too much. This ensures you can maintain efficiency and also means you need less staff to operate multiple enclosures. If you can, place your keeper hut, vets, and enclosures all in the same workgroup. Regarding your staff, you’ll ideally want one staff zone to service several enclosures. If they don’t stay in good working order, they’ll cost MORE money to run. You’ll want to keep an eye on your big outgoings. Don’t try and expand your zoo unless you have a comfortable cushion to fall back on (around $5,000 – $10,000). Ensure you have one enclosure to start with and the basic necessities. Maintaining Your Zoo And Profits In Planet Zooīefore you get ahead of yourself in Planet Zoo, don’t! You NEED to go slow at the beginning. Players should also not be afraid to use contraceptive measures on their animals to prevent overbreeding, which can get costly quickly, as each animal requires a hefty investment for proper care. This can lead to fights and injuries that will result in higher vet bills, lower guest satisfaction, and trouble overall. Sometimes, male animals will fight for dominance. In terms of animal management, players will need to be careful not to have too many males in a single enclosure. Players can also sell offspring for cash instead, though this is a less helpful practice long-term. Animals purchased using cash cannot be released for Conservation Credits, but the offspring can. One way to accomplish this might be for players to allow their animals to breed and then send the offspring to live in the wild. Players will also want to be sure to collect and save Conservation Credits. At this point, players should listen to their patrons and lower the cost to avoid losing loyal visitors. If the price gets too high, guests will complain. As improvements are made and more guests visit and enjoy their time at the zoo, they will be willing to pay more as the player increases the price. When setting an entrance fee, players should start slowly with a low and reasonable rate. In general, players should try to build these away from guest walking paths and avoid spending money to decorate them until later when a starter zoo is financially stable. That should be enough to get the zoo running well and generating money for later upgrades and additions. Most players can get away with just building the following: Once players hire staff, the game will suggest they purchase and build all possible staff and administrative buildings. As players make more money, they can earn a profit more easily by investing in security guards, educational speakers, guides, and groundskeepers for the more heavily trafficked areas of the zoo. This way, they won't have too many staff members with too little to do, but will have enough to care for the animals and keep both staff and patrons happy. Players may want to start small with one or two vets and assign one keeper to three enclosures. They will want to have vets, keepers, and mechanics, but they will want to be careful of how many they hire. Players will also need to be frugal about their staff choices.
